Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is an International Non-Governmental Organization that is charitable, impartial, non-political, independent and non-profit making. In Sierra Leone ACF opened in 1991.  ACF overall objective in these contexts is to fight against hunger and this is achieved through the implementation of nutrition, health, food security and water & sanitation (WASH) projects. ACF is seeking motivated, dynamic and experienced candidates for the following positions:

POSITION: INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM MANAGER                                 

LOCATION: Moyamba & Kambia

DURATION OF CONTRACT: 10 Months with possible extension

STARTING DATE: Immediately

PROBATION PERIOD:    Three (3) Months

SUPERVISEES:  IPC Team in the Base

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Two (2)                                                          

SUPERVISED BY: Field Coordinator

SALARY LEVEL: M2B: (LE) Monthly Basic Le3,869,372.54 + Allowances:    

Assignments:

To establish, manage, and monitor IPC programme, in partnership with hospital management and DHMT (District health management team)

General objectives:

  • Implement the IPC Projects
  • Establish training and skills development for the hospital/PHU/ DHMT teams as well as for ACF Staff
  • Training and managing the programme team
  • Represent ACF and develop local partnership

Specific objectives:

  • Timely and high quality implementation of the IPC programme and alerting the Field Coordinator of any issue related to the implementation.
  • Identify and propose the development of new programmes
  • Timely and high quality reporting, both internal and external, on the activities of his/her programme, with a critical analysis
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of sectorial advocacy activities in collaboration with the Nutrition and Health HoD
  • Ensuring the quality of the IPC programme
  • Involving partners in evaluating the skills and technical level of the teams in partner organisations
  • Evaluation of the technical skill level of the ACF teams, and, together with the partners, of the partners’ teams
  • Consulting with partners to determine their training needs
  • Proposing training plans to partner organisations
  • Developing the skills of colleagues in other organisations within the partnership
  • Ensuring, with the partners, the quality and appropriateness of the training programmes put in place
  • involving partners in evaluating the skills and technical level of the teams in partner organisations
  • Evaluation of the technical skill level of the ACF teams, and, together with the partners, of the partners’ teams
  • Consulting with partners to determine their training needs
  • Proposing training plans to partner organisations
  • Developing the skills of colleagues in other organisations within the partnership
  • Ensuring, with the partners, the quality and appropriateness of the training programmes put in place
  • The twice yearly assessment of the skills and performance of the ACF teams in his/her programme
  • The management of his/her teams (leadership, monitoring, motivation….)
  • The professional standing of ACF in his/her geographical area
  • The distribution to partners of information collected locally
  • Respect for the principles and values of ACF in its relations with partners
  • The quality of relations with partners

Diploma / Level of studies:

  • University or Diploma degree in Medicine/Nursing/Midwifery/CHO
  • Experience in hospital management

 Required skills:

  • Confirmed experience in project management
  • Open-mindedness and creativeness
  • Attentive – Sense of diplomacy and communication
  • Good organiser
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of the local languages and culture
